Shortly after our founding in 1969 SafeWay Hydraulics introduced the first two-way sleeve quick connect coupling, providing the ease of one hand connection/disconnection to the farmer. Our introduction of coupler adapters, which allow different style quick coupling interconnection, cemented our leadership in the agricultural after market in our early years.
Today's impressive product line includes a broad foundation of agricultural interchange products as well as numerous industrial interchange quick couplings. These include various ISO interchanges, heavy duty connect-under-pressure designs, extreme high pressure designs and innovative flush-face, non-spill models. Our product specifications and quality are second to none. We frequently work with OEM's to design special products for their unique applications.
SafeWay quick connect couplings have a solid reputation for ease of use without leakage, and with minimum restriction of flow during system operation. Since our founding, all SafeWay fluid transfer products are designed, fabricated, and assembled in the USA.

Many hydraulic quick couplers look alike on the outside, and interconnect due to exterior dimension requirements within a given interchange. | ||Both one-way and two-way sleeves are specially hardened to resist brinelling, sometimes caused by the detent (locking) balls. Two-way sleeves for one-hand connection are a SafeWay first! |
| ||Two-way shut-off valving is standard. Both "straight-thru" and valve actuator designs are available. Industrial interchange designs use poppet style valving. |
| ||A shielded valve retainer in the male tip is a must when connecting to a full pressure coupling (FlowMaster Series). The shield protects the valve from shut-off (flow-checking) when hi-velocity back flow is present. |
| ||Threaded retainers are assembled with an electronically controlled machine, providing a precise valve stop location to minimize pressure loss and assure interchangeability. |
| ||SafeWay's standard product line is available in steel, brass, and stainless steel. Our standard finish in steel products is zinc and yellow chromate on all exposed surfaces to prevent corrosion. Additional materials and custom finishes are available, based on quantity. |
| ||Nitrile (Buna-N) O-rings, standard in most SafeWay couplers and adapters, have excellent compatibility with petroleum based hydraulic fluids and adapt to a wide range of temperatures. Ethylene Propylene and Viton® are standard options with other compounds available. |
| ||Hardened, precision steel locking detent balls allow coupling halves and adapters to rotate and align easily. They serve as a reliable and durable locking mechanism. Brass and stainless steel products are provided with hardened stainless steel detent balls and springs. |
| ||SafeWay quick couplers are available with pipe threads, SAE O-ring Boss, BSPP, and metric threads in a variety of sizes. All thread styles and sizes are machined to exacting specifications. |
| ||As part of SafeWay's zero-defects program, all products with poppet style valving are 100% bubble leak tested during the assembly process. This test, combined with many others, assures that our products live up to the end users as well as our own expectations of quality. |
